Who is Ana Tejano and what other books have you written?

I’m Ana Tejano, and I’m a contemporary romance author based in the Philippines. I was part of the first batch of #RomanceClass in 2013, and self-published my debut novel, Fall Like Rain, in 2014. My books offer soft, low-heat romance stories rooted in friendships and community, grounded in the reality of everyday adult life in the Philippines, with characters figuring out what it means to be made for love. My books always have a happy ending, full stop.

I’ve been writing since I was a kid, ever since I “met” Elizabeth Wakefield and realized I could do the same, too. From writing short stories in my free time in various notebooks, I first got published in various Philippine print and online publications, including Didache, In His Steps, FISH Magazine, Family Time, The Female Network, and The Top Knotters. I’m an avid reader, too, and was also part of different book communities before publishing, including Goodreads – The Filipino Group Book Club, Filipino Book Bloggers, and the Filipino ReaderCon core committee. I handled content, web, and social media for Filipino ReaderCon, and helped launch the first Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards in 2012.

When I’m not writing romance and reading books, I work as a marketing manager for a tech company, and spend the rest of my time serving in CFC Singles for Christ, fangirling over BTS, walking my dogs, and collecting fountain pens and notebooks.

Does Ana Tejano write under pen names/pseudonyms?

Ana Tejano is actually a pen name! It’s part of my full name, but I don’t use it in my day-to-day interactions – so it’s a pen name, but still my name.

I only use my other, everyday/government name when I’m writing for my day job or signing documents, but for all author interactions, I use Ana. 🙂

Where is Ana Tejano from, and do they do events in Metro Manila/Philippines/internationally?

I am based just outside Metro Manila, so most of my activities are in the city. I would love to be part of local book-related events, although I do have to confirm my schedule because I also have a day job. 🙂 I have also been fortunate to attend other events outside of Metro Manila, like the Dumaguete Literary Festival, so I am open to invitations! Virtual events are totally fine, too.

Where can I buy books by Ana Tejano?

My books are available widely, and I’ve listed all retailers on this page. Philippine print editions are available directly from me, or from our partner retailers. International editions are available via Amazon or Bookshop.

How can I get a signed copy of books by Ana Tejano?

You can get a signed copy of my books by ordering direct from me! Books available from our partner stores aren’t signed, but you can always bring a copy to any upcoming #RomanceClass event, and I’ll gladly sign them for you. 🙂

Will Ana Tejano’s books be available in other formats, such as audiobook or hardcover?

All my books are currently only in paperback and ebook versions, except for Keep the Faith, which has an unabridged audio version released through Season 3 of the #RomanceClass podcast. It’s also available on the #RomanceClass Patreon. 🙂

What genre are Ana Tejano’s books, and what are their main themes?

My books are contemporary romance, featuring Filipino adults who are dealing with their every day lives and falling in love. They also all happen to be Catholics, so there is always some mention of Catholic tradition in the books, but it’s not the center of the story unless it’s mentioned specifically. I write across different tropes, and while there may be some drama, most of them are generally low-angst and there’s space for the characters to grow and be better people at the end of the book.

Maybe one day I will venture into other genres, but I quite like being in my new adult/adult contemporary space. I do have one young adult short story in my collection, You Could Be the One, and I don’t think I will be writing any more, though! ^^;

What is the correct reading order of Ana Tejano’s books?

All my books are standalone so they could be read in any order, but there will be slight spoilers if you start with the later books. If you are iffy with that, the correct order (including short stories) is:

  1. Fall Like Rain
  2. It’s a Match and Bottleneck from You Could Be the One
  3. Keep the Faith
  4. Five Minutes Till Midnight from Make My Wish Come True (but this story is already available as bonus content in Keep the Faith)
  5. Where It All Begins from Where It All Begins
  6. All This Time from Tropetastic Kindness Bundle # 1
  7. Win Meah Over
  8. Fake It Till We Make It from You Could Be the One
  9. Until You from NomCom: Tropetastic Kindness Bundle # 2
  10. No Giving Up from Where It All Begins
  11. Let’s Run Away from Where It All Begins

Do the characters in Ana Tejano’s books exist in the same universe?

Currently, yes. I can’t help it – it just happened! My characters demand for their stories. The next ones will be, too, but it will be a completely different set of friends!

Are they part of a series or a standalone?

They are standalone, but the three novels (Fall Like Rain, Keep the Faith, and Win Meah Over) is part of a series that I will officially launch in 2027.

Are there any content warnings or age guidelines for Ana Tejano’s books?

All my books are currently heat level 0, which means there is no sexual content on the page. See the #RomanceClass Heat Level scale for more information.

Most of my stories are set before 2020, so there’s no mention of the COVID-19 except for two short stories in Where It All Begins.

Keep the Faith contains discussions about the aftermath of a typhoon.

Win Meah Over contains pet loss grief and parental abandonment in backstory.

You will also find specific content warnings listed at the start of each book.

How can book clubs request a collab with Ana Tejano?

As a former book club member, I would love to collaborate with book clubs as an author! Please feel free to reach out through the contact form, and let’s chat. 🙂

I am not interested in any collabs or offers related to AI.

Adaptation rights represented by Mina V. Esguerra (RomanceClass Books) and Anna Liza Recto-Ruth (Bold MP). Send inquiries to mina@romanceclassbooks.com or annaliza@boldmp.com.
